Hoe weet de app of een terras in de zon ligt?
Voor elk terras hebben we de skyline eromheen berekend uit de hoogte van alle gebouwen (3D BAG). Samen met de stand van de zon weten we welk deel van het terras zon krijgt.

Het terras ligt toch in de schaduw.
Bomen, luifels en parasols nemen we (nog) niet mee. Bij bewolking toont de kaart waar de zon zou schijnen.

Mijn terras staat er niet tussen.
In Amsterdam tonen we terrassen met een vergunning van de gemeente; elders komen terrassen uit OpenStreetMap. Staat jouw terras er niet tussen? Geef in OpenStreetMap bij de zaak aan dat er buitenzitplaatsen zijn (outdoor_seating=yes), of laat het ons weten. Fastfood laten we weg.

De widget toont terrassen in het centrum, niet bij mij.
Geef SunnyDrinks toegang tot je locatie, ook voor widgets: Instellingen > Privacy & beveiliging > Locatievoorzieningen > SunnyDrinks. Buiten Nederland toont de widget het centrum van Amsterdam.

Frequently asked questions

How does the app know a terrace is in the sun?
For every terrace we calculated the skyline around it from the height of every building (3D BAG). Together with the position of the sun, that tells us which part of the terrace gets sun.

The terrace is in the shade anyway.
Trees, awnings and parasols aren't taken into account (yet). When it's cloudy, the map shows where the sun would shine.

My terrace is missing.
In Amsterdam we show terraces with a permit from the city; elsewhere terraces come from OpenStreetMap. Missing one? Mark the place as having outdoor seating in OpenStreetMap (outdoor_seating=yes), or let us know. Fast food is left out.

The widget shows terraces in the centre, not near me.
Allow SunnyDrinks to use your location, including for widgets: Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > SunnyDrinks. Outside the Netherlands the widget shows central Amsterdam.
